Wolfe Creek Crater is a well-preserved meteorite impact crater (astrobleme) in Western Australia. It is accessed via the Tanami Road 150 km (93 mi) south of the town of Halls Creek. The crater is central to the Wolfe Creek Meteorite Crater National Park.

The crater averages about 875 metres in diameter, 60 metres from rim to present crater floor and it is estimated that the meteorite that formed it had a mass of about 50,000 tonnes, while the age is estimated to be less than 300,000 years (Pleistocene). Small numbers of iron meteorites have been found in the vicinity of the crater, as well as larger so-called 'shale-balls', rounded objects made of iron oxide, some weighing as much as 250 kg.

It was brought to the attention of scientists after being spotted during an aerial survey in 1947, investigated on the ground two months later, and reported in publication in 1949.The European name for the crater comes from a nearby creek, which was in turn named after Robert Wolfe (early reports misspell the name as Wolf Creek), a prospector and storekeeper during the gold rush that established the town of Halls Creek

The crater was featured in the 2005 horror film Wolf Creek, and the sequel in 2013, Wolf Creek 2.

It was the setting for Arthur Upfield's 1962 novel The Will of the Tribe.

The Wolfe Creek crater has considerable claim to be the second most 'obvious' (i.e. relatively undeformed by erosion) meteorite crater known on Earth, after the famous Barringer Crater in Arizona.

The crater is mentioned in the children's science fiction book Alienology that says (in its universe) that a space craft crashed there.

Spreading Debt and Death is the second coin in the "Rise and Fall of the Banksters" sub-series in the Silver Shield Series. 

This design tackles a reality familiar to any student of history. The power of war is not the destruction it causes or the armies it raises but rather the debt it creates. By pushing and creating the conditions for one, banksters are able to create and control through the other. The Spreading Debt and Death Bankster round captures this idea perfectly.

The obverse features a design by Heidi Wastweet that shows a skeletonized tycoon in a top hat, a merchant of death as it were, and the wares that he peddles. By creating war as illustrated by the machine gun in his left, the bankster is able to create debt and servitude as illustrated by the shackles in his left hand. 

The money trailing behind him is the vehicle used to bring about the "heyday" of the bankster's power as illustrated by the "prancing" attitude and smile that are both clearly visible. He is surrounded by the engraved words "Spreading Debt and Death". 

The reverse shows the revised Silver Shield logo with the trivium in the center encircled by the words "Silver Shield 1 Troy ounce 2014 .999 Pure AG" surrounded by 47 bullets.

2015 Lunar Skulls Silver Goat Coin Legal Tender Ghana Bullion

The Chinese Lunar calendar-themed coins have emerged as the largest and perhaps most diverse coin program in the world in recent years. But for the modern world coin collector that results in such a dizzying range of coins, sometimes even from one country, that it is hard to decide which ones are worth getting. In addition, some animals seem to result in more attractive art work than others. The 2015 year of the goat coins have been more challenging in this regard but have already been rendered very nicely in Perth's bullion and collector coins, the 5 oz gilded Niue issue made by Pamp in Switzerland with a mintage of 500, and others.

But now there is a totally original take on the Lunar theme from the country of Ghana with the first coin in a new series of a more macabre nature that depicts the skulls of the animal. The 2015 Lunar Skulls goat issue is being minted by an e-Bay dealer named Son-Montuno, who specializes in modern world coins, who decided to establish his own private mint to produce this series. It will be a 12-coin series, and first year releases are often the most sought after.

The skull coins, which will be minted in high relief, and issued in low mintages in BU (2,000 coins) and especially in proof (just 500 coins), have really struck a chord with many collectors, even though they will only be issued in January, which means buyers have only line art drawings to go by for now.

The coins were produced with the assistance of SMmint.com and were designed by U.S. tattoo artist, Kiana Roo, whose signature appears on each coin. Each coin is also individually numbered on the rim, and the number on the certificate of authenticity will match that on the coin. This is a feature many collectors find appealing.

It is hard to say exactly why these coins have become popular so quickly, but it is not terribly surprising given the success of the Zombucks and similar limited edition rounds sold by Provident Metals, which sell for solid premiums over the issue prices. At the recent Whitman Expo in Baltimore, Maryland I ran into a dealer who said she was particularly taken with the Feast dollar, a macabre version of the famous Peace dollar. Zombucks is billed as "the currency of the apocalypse" by Provident.

Son-Montuno decided to split the mintage of these coins with his business partner. Son-Montuno allocated only 10 coins per dealer
with his half of the mintage, with the other half going to his business partner. Each dealer who buys coins to sell retail will only receive 10 coins in most cases. This method of distribution is one of the reasons prices for the coins in proof have taken off so quickly, though auction results have also been uneven.

Pre-orders for the proofs began on November 22 at $89, there were many sales in the $150 range, and by the 24th they reached $199. Then auction prices started going much higher reaching $596 on the 30th. But on December 6 someone got a proof for only $255, still a healthy increase from the initial price, but a fraction of more recent sales.

From what I have read and heard from other collectors it is clear that some buyers quickly realized the proof coins represented a good value at $89-$150 and appear to have purchased extras to sell at a profit. It remains to be seen whether by January the proof coins will still bring $600-700, but $300 seems like a reasonable prediction. A lot will depend on how the coins look in person, and on the extent to which buyers decide to sell their extra coins, or keep them to see how prices develop.

Nearing its 100th anniversary, the drug war has done little to prevent cannabis usage, though it has been very successful in criminalizing our youth and creating future felons.

As government powers have expanded to control recreational drug use, so has the world’s incarcerated population. The numbers have shot up dramatically, from roughly 500,000 prisoners in 1980 to around 2.25 million by 2005. Over 1 trillion dollars have been spent in government efforts to fight the war on drugs.

History of Illegalization and Vilification

The government has been furthering its involvements in our daily habits and personal intake since its first ban on opium in 1914. The progression of drug laws from The Nixon Administration to the advancement of federal power under the Obama Administration has illustrated the unwanted intrusion of the federal government into our personal lives.

Those who attempt to ban our rights to privacy use the same, old argument over and over again—they cry ‘Immorality!’ Henry Anslinger—a man ironically addicted to morphine at the early age of twelve years old—led the campaign against marijuana in the 30’s as the commissioner for the National Bureau of narcotics. He launched a campaign against cannabis by using the media and branding to label the plant and the use of the substance as ‘degrading to society.’ His goal was to grow his newly formed Narcotics agency to expand to banning all recreational drugs.

He is responsible for remarking the plant as ‘marijuana’—his attempt to make the plant as inferior by promoting its formal Spanish name; his efforts to demonize the plant’s credibility often lead to racism and social degradation.

Mythical Creatures: The Vampire

While even folkloric vampires of the Balkans and Eastern Europe had a wide range of appearance ranging from nearly human to bloated rotting corpses, it was interpretation of the vampire by the Christian Church and the success of vampire literature, namely John Polidori's 1819 novella.

The Vampyre that established the archetype of charismatic and sophisticated vampire; it is arguably the most influential vampire work of the early 19th century, inspiring such works as Varney the Vampire and eventually Dracula. The Vampyre was itself based on Lord Byron's

unfinished story "Fragment of a Novel", also known as "The Burial: A Fragment", published in 1819. However, it is Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula that is remembered as the  quintessential vampire novel and which provided the basis of modern vampire fiction. Dracula drew on earlier mythologies of werewolves and similar legendary demons and "was to voice the anxieties of an age", and the "fears of late Victorian patriarchy".The success of this book spawned a distinctive vampire genre, still popular in the 21st century, with books, films, video games, and television shows.

The vampire is such a dominant figure in the horror genre that literary historian Susan Sellers places the current vampire myth in the "comparative safety of nightmare fantasy". Tales of supernatural beings consuming the blood or flesh of the living have been found in nearly every culture around the world for many centuries.

Today, we would associate these entities with vampires, but in ancient times, the term vampire did not exist; blood drinking and similar activities were attributed to demons or spirits who would eat flesh and drink blood The notion of vampirism has existed for millennia; cultures such as the Mesopotamians, Hebrews, Ancient Greeks, aand Romans had tales of demons and spirits which are considered precursors to modern vampires.

However, despite the occurrence of vampire-like creatures in these ancient civilizations, the folklore for the entity we know today as the vampire originates almost exclusively from early-18th century southeastern Europe, when verbal traditions of many ethnic groups of the region were recorded and published.

In most cases, vampires are revenants of evil beings, suicide victims, or witches, but they can also be created by a malevolent spirit possessing a corpse or by being bitten by a vampire. Belief in such legends became so pervasive that in some areas it caused mass hysteria and even public executions of people believed to be vampires
